Since its establishment in 1981, SEFRAM is engaged in people’s protection. It is as such that it possesses the ATEX certification.
This regulation come from European directives, apply in France according to the Labor code. The directive 2014/34/EU of February 26th, 2014defines an ATEX as «a mixture of dangerous substances with air, under atmospheric conditions, in the form of gases, vapours, mist or dust in which, after ignition has occurred, combustion spreads to the entire unburned mixture».
The ATEX certification enables SEFRAM to propose on the market certified products mitigating this additional risk for people’shealth and safety. Different kinds of ATEX zones exist. This zoning is necessary to estimate the level of risk and to propose the adequate material. By SEFRAM, the materialis certified zone 21 or zone 22, in a dusty atmosphere.
The zone 21 is relative to an explosive atmosphere occasionally present, in normal running, whereas the zone 22 concerns an explosive atmosphere accidentally present, in case of dysfunction or during short durations. Moreover, the Dust Emission Monitoring CDM is approved zone 2, with the same risks as the zone 22 but in a gaseous atmosphere.
